I open a box.. throw a piece of paper wrapping to the floor.. ten seconds later Oliver has claimed it as a sleep area. Love this pooch.. anything on the floor he makes it his bed and breaks your heart with those big brown eyes if you try to take it away and try to stir him over to his expensive doughnut bed with microfiber fabric and bells and whistles.

San Francisco Day FOUR: The Wild Wild West

So after going through our options, it was decided that the best bank to go with in our new home would be Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo is a local bank, it started as a post/bank service back in the days that stage coaches ruled the “highways” and gold was the main currency (not unlike today actually).

The most exciting thing about the bank is that everything is adorned with the image of the iconic stage coach along with the six horses that used to drag it along.

I was excited the minute we walked in: This is as close to the Gold Rush days I will ever get!

While going through the banking details with the very professional and personable bank manager that spoke to us, all I could think of was “Can I get away with getting into that coach?”. That coach being a museum piece behind velvet ropes in the middle of the main branch of the bank in the financial district of San Francisco.

Bank Manager: “So will you be wanting x feature with your account?”

Dominic: “Blahblahblah”

Me: .oO(“I could sneak in and take a picture”)

Bank Manager: “Blah blah blahblah?”

Dominic: “Blah blah hahahahaha Blah.”

Me: (“Damn I need to buy a bonnet ala Little House on the Prairie.”)

Dominic looking at me: “Blahblah Blah blah?”

Me: .oO(“Ahh..little Laura Ingalls.. is there anything you can’t do!”)

So I decided to the next best thing: Every card and cheque book I got had the typical logo that included the coach and horses. I was brimming with excitement when I was told that we were going to be given a plush horse that is the iconic horse of the Olden Days.

The horses name was Molly, and she was white.

Oliver has given Molly a grooming so severe that she now has a stiff Mohawk.

She gets bitten on the bum a lot too.

Dominic, on the other hand, is fascinated with the online services of the bank.

Don’t get me wrong: I love all the convenience and features that civilised banking gets us. The stage coach though makes it that much better!

Every little girl is a Laura Ingalls deep down inside complete with the corny bonnet, frilly dresses and ridiculous moral.. ahh.. how I wanted to be little Laura..

Mood:

Jet Lagged (I can’t seem to find a good pattern of sleeping)

Excited (What a great city!)

Song of the day:

Go West by the Pet Shop Boys
